Distributed: Health CLE Session Spans Legal and Regulatory Issues for Blockchain Technology on Oct. 3 in Nashville

NASHVILLE - September 14, 2016 - Attorneys and law students are invited to attend CLE sessions in Nashville on legal issues related to blockchain technology and its transformative potential for healthcare and other industries.

The program is scheduled October 3 at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville. Its two sessions (total 2.0 CLE credit hours) are accredited by the Tennessee Commission on Continuing Legal Education.The program is open to attorneys and the general public from all states and includes a networking luncheon.

"Bitcoin, Blockchain & the Law" at 1 p.m.: In point-counterpoint format, two leading attorneys explore the legal landscape of disruptive technology, from impact on smart contracts and payments, to consumer protection and the impact of new technology on the practice of law.

"How Blockchain Will Affect HIPAA" at 2:15 p.m.: Blockchain technology has been heralded as the missing piece of the healthcare interoperability puzzle - in large part by enabling transparent data sharing. How will this revolution in data integrity affect compliance with HIPAA and its limits on data use? An expert panel will address prospects and key elements of substantive legal and regulatory issues involved.
